Taurus

New South Wales

A galvanized steel bull which was made for the Sculpture By The Sea exhibition at Bondi in Sydney. This sculpture was purchased by a private collector, and is now sited at his livestock property at Forbes in country New South Wales.

Animals are a recurring theme in Andy’s work, often inspiring ideas and themes particluar to their environment and the artworks' locations.

In Glasgow, a large scale “Hielan’ Coo” (the Scottish breed of long haired cattle) was commissioned for a children's zoo in the city, and has proved a great attraction for youngsters.

In Carmyle to the south east of the city, a Heron is mounted atop a tall steel column, depicted nesting and overlooking the River Clyde. This sculpture was commissioned by Sustrans, a company who regenerate disused railways and canal paths around the U.K., and symbolises the environmental regeneration of this former industrial area.

Other animals Andy has sculpted include deer, dolphins, owls, wolves, and of course many horses.
